Kiln Class with the Buchanan Arts Studio Staff- Fridays 6-9pm

This 8-week course will focus on building independent skills in ceramic kiln operation and firing techniques. In this class you will learn how to fire your own work with support from our studio staff. Instruction will include kiln operation, maintenance, repair, glazes and firing schedules. (Intermediate/Advanced level)

This class will balance independent studio time with kiln-releated instruction and lectures. Your course fee includes the first 25lbs of clay, glazes and firings, access to Sunday work sessions, and the Saturday evening Meet/Make/Think critique group on third Saturdays.

*Note: participation in this course is a prerequisite for enrolling in the new Buchanan Arts Center Kiln Club Membership program, launching in early 2026.

About the instructors:

Jennifer Crescuillo currently serves as the Studio Director of Buchanan Arts. She is also an internationally exhibited artist currently living and working in Silver Point, Tennessee with her family.  She received her Master’s of Fine Art in glass at Southern Illinois University Carbondale.  She has taught and worked at various glass studios, such as The Studio of the Corning Museum of Glass, Urban Glass, and Pilchuck Glass School. Jennifer also operates High Polish Studio, specializing in custom glass fabrication and cold working services.

Originally from Madison, Alabama, Hannah Einhorn currently serves as a studio assistant at Buchanan Arts. She earned her BFA from the Watkins College of Art at Belmont University. Hannah has continued her studio practice through residency programs locally and throughout the region. She recently curated the inaugural exhibition “Edges” at Random Sample.

Riley Rhodes currently serves as a studio assistant and instructor in the Young Artists After School (YAAS) program at Buchanan Arts. She earned her BFA from Watkins College of Art at Belmont University and is a practicing artist in Nashville.
